26 February Sunday 2023 : Mangalore city had witnessed an unusual farewell at the Town Hall today that went very emotional at many instances in between. It was an unexpected quick fix organized by Police fraternity in honour of their family head who was heading to Bengaluru with a promotion in career. He is transferred to a relatively new avenue that has no immediate direct impact to their career track.
The intimacy that was informally constituted in Police Department and the professional freedom that was ensured to the colleagues could be the single most reason for such a colossal farewell to take place. Mangalore that was known for Sunday low density in the city witnessed the intensity of intimacy turned out to be a flood of crowd who had turned out to facilitate the turn around commissioner of police who had become a feather in the cap of respect for the cops.
Incoming Commissioner of Police Sri. Kuldeep Kumar Jain,IPS recognized and appreciated the great work done by his predecessor. It made my work easier he said. Continuity of excellence is felt all over the town hall with the department announced as they continue to support the excellence in leadership in the future as well.
It is a model for everyone seeking excellence in whichever fraternity where they take leadership roles. Winning the heart of the colleagues is the first step in the process. You can do anything once you win the confidence of your colleagues. Mutual respect is the key for winning the goodwill of colleagues. Taking everyone into confidence is very important. There is no one not important or less significant in the process.
Proper delegation and non interference in the process are very important. Guidance at critical times play a major role. Your intention should be good. Outgoing Commissioner of Police (CP) was often found in the attire of a Common Person (CP). Many places people did not identify him at first sight. He was everywhere with everyone like a common person. The city will miss the efficient police official a lot.
